Maybe it was because of the circumstances (a lot more deserted), or because the show had avoided some of the fake-outs that Martin had over-used, but I really believed that was the end for the Hound, at it was more powerful for that reason. When I saw that same scene on the show, it meant a lot more to me, mostly because I really believed that when Arya left Sandor to die a painful death, that was actually going to happen. I had read so many fake-out deaths before, and Arya leaving the Hound to die more painfully felt like another attempt by Martin to try to surprise the audience. When I read his death in the books, it didnвЂ™t really mean anything to me. I really really hope that Sandor stays dead, despite how admittedly awesome a character he is. So, is Cilenti returning in season 6 or is he working on another project in Belfast?
